Fleet Logistics has added experience to its account management team in the UK with the appointment of Steve Hackett as senior account manager.

Hackett, 47, has over 30 years’ experience in the fleet industry, most recently with Leasedrive, where he was account manager at the Bracknell-based business.

At Fleet Logistics, Hackett will be responsible for working with large UK fleet customers, who typically have European or international operations, and providing large corporate account management and customer service expertise.

“In my previous roles in the fleet market, I found that I was increasingly talking to fleet operators who wanted to explore the possibility of pan European or international fleet deals. So this new role feels like a natural development for me,” he said.

“Increasingly, large blue chip fleet operators want assurance that they are being offered the best price available by their leasing suppliers. But with a single supply situation that is unlikely to be the case.

“Fleet Logistics has the ideal answer with our multi-bidding solution which selects the most cost effective rates from a panel of approved suppliers to ensure the client gets the best possible price.

“My role will be not only to manage this process, but to help ensure we deliver a high and consistent standard of service to reinforce the best prices that we have obtained, and to ensure that for our customers’ employees selecting and operating a company car is an extremely positive experience.”

Hackett, who will be field based and will report to Vinzenz Pflanz, director of account and supply chain management, said he was delighted to be joining Fleet Logistics at an important stage in its development.
