PwC has appointed David Cooke as the new head of its UK automotive group, responsible for leading and co-ordinating PwC's services to the industry across the country. Cooke, an Uxbridge-based partner, will take up the role with immediate effect.

Having read engineering and law at Cambridge University, Cooke then joined PwC as a graduate recruit. He has worked with a number of automotive groups during his 30-year career with PwC and believes that the UK market, innovation and skills base will continue to play a key part in worldwide automotive developments.

Cooke said: “I am delighted to be taking on this role within PwC and working with businesses across the automotive industry through our advisory, tax and accounting practices.

“Britain has a rich and proud automotive heritage. These are exciting and challenging times for people in the automotive industry and I look forward to working with them in the face of a rapidly changing environment.”
