BCA is reporting a strong first quarter for online sales having sold over 32,000 vehicles to Live Online bidders during the first three months of the year, the highest quarterly volume achieved to date.

In the process, BCA established a new monthly sales volume record of over 11,700 vehicles sold Live Online in March.

Individual trade buyer numbers topped 2,500 in a month for the first time – also during March - with many purchasing over four vehicles on average.

Year-on-year, 2012 volumes are up by 11.6% - if this is repeated over the full year BCA would be on course to sell around 135,000 units to online buyers in 2012. Underlining the growth, sold volumes have increased well over ten-fold in five years.

The announcement comes as BCA gained yet another Experian Hitwise Top 10 Award, this time for the whole of 2011. In total BCA accounted for over 60% of all traffic in its industry sector, underlining the company’s dominance in the online remarketing arena.

Commercial director D’Vidis Jacobs said: “Our online sales volumes have continued to grow significantly as a result of the enhancements we have put in place to improve the online buying and selling experience with BCA.

“Last year we saw double-digit growth in our Live Online, Bid Now, Buy Now and e-Auction volumes and we expect to repeat that in 2012.”

He added: “Our aim is to make the BCA online offering the most attractive in terms of quality of stock, cataloguing information and range of services, the robustness of the technology and the ease of use, whether a buyer or seller.

“Our customers tell us they want to buy and sell used vehicles online 24/7, 365 days a year to gain a competitive edge and that is exactly the opportunity we are giving them.”
