Zenith’s training academy is celebrating its first twelve months of training initiatives. The During its first year 135 employees (over 70% of Zenith’s employees) have developed their skills and qualifications through the Academy.

One of the main areas the Academy focuses on is in customer service. More than thirty employees have so far obtained the City & Guilds Customer Service Award.

All Zenith’s team leaders and line managers have also completed a course from the Institute of Leadership Management, designed to help them to grow and progress their teams.

The Zenith Academy offers industry specific training, such as Zenith’s Introduction to Fleet, which is accredited by the BVRLA and which every new recruit must attend. Every month Zenith holds a Zig Zag session where various teams explain their achievements and objectives, allowing colleagues to understand each area of the business and their interdependencies.

Zenith also provides personal sponsorship for individuals wishing to gain professional qualifications in their area of specialism, such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing or Accountancy qualifications, as well as technical skills development in conjunction with Volkswagen and Automotive Engineer Assessors.

Tim Buchan, Zenith’s chief executive officer, commented: “The Zenith Academy underpins our commitment to working with our colleagues at every level to help them to grow and develop. It is based on a partnership approach where each individual takes ownership of their own self-development while the company provides encouragement and support to facilitate a lifetime of learning.”
