‘Leadership in Fleet Management’ is the theme of the next annual national members’ conference of the Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM). The morning session will focus on leading technology in fleet while the afternoon session will centre on leadership in learning and development. Conference facilitator will be Adrian Moorhouse MBE and guest speaker will be Alec Stewart OBE, who will also present the training awards.
The 21st ICFM conference takes place on Tuesday November 12 at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon. The event is kindly hosted by Jaguar Land Rover and co-sponsored by FMG, the UK’s largest independent incident prevention and fleet management services provider. Conference support partners are Thrifty Car & Van Rental, AutoWindscreens and Fleet Hire.
Chairman of the ICFM, Roddy Graham declared: “Following the outstanding success of last year’s anniversary conference, Council has chosen to repeat the highly praised format with ‘Leadership in Fleet Management’ as the chosen conference theme.
“Central to the conference will be an in-depth, ‘in-dialogue’ look at ‘Leading Technology in Fleet’. This session will engage and enlighten the audience on the subject of current and future technology impacting fleet management. Panellists will use their background experience to predict where technology will add value to fleet management in the future.”
The ‘Leading Technology in Fleet’ session will be facilitated by Adrian Moorhouse, MBE, former British swimmer and winner of the 100m Breaststroke gold medal at the Seoul Olympics. He is also managing director of Lane 4, a leader in the field of human performance helping organisations around the world reach their fullest potential and build sustainable competitive advantage through individual and team development.
The session will feature an expert panel of guest speakers including Martin Evans, managing director of Jaama Limited; Olly Macé, head of global strategy and external affairs for BP Biofuels; Darren Lindsey, commercial product director at Michelin PLC; and Bob Holbrey, group IT director at FMG Limited.
After lunch, Alec Stewart OBE will be the conference guest speaker. Alec is former captain of the England cricket team. He is the most capped English cricketer of all time in Test matches and 2nd most capped in One Day Internationals, having played in 133 Tests and 170 ODIs. Besides giving insights into his interesting life, he will also present this year’s ICFM awards.
Roddy Graham continued: “ICFM accredited education and training are designed to make a real difference to organisations by improving efficiencies, saving costs and ensuring compliance. The awards presentation will recognise each recipient’s achievement. Receiving an award from Alec Stewart should add to the sense of individual achievement.”
The annual national members’ conference will commence at 10.00am and finish at 3.00pm. ICFM members will be allowed to bring one guest with them.
