BT Fleet, part of BT Group, has signed a four year sole supplier agreement with Wales & West Utilities, to manage their fleet of 1,200 in the UK.

Wales & West Utilities operate the gas distribution network throughout Wales and the South West of England serving more than 2.5 million gas consumers.

The decision to appoint BT Fleet followed a detailed tender process. Wales & West Utilities chose BT Fleet as the provider best suited to meet the company’s key business objective of minimising downtime across their fleet. This plays a critical role in ensuring the highest levels of service are offered to millions of households and businesses across Wales & West Utilities’ network.

In addition to ensuring vehicle downtime is kept to a minimum, BT Fleet will also take responsibility for managing Wales & West Utilities’ fleet supplier network. As part of this process, BT Fleet has already rationalised the supplier network, consolidating it into a strategic list of partners to create an efficient, time-saving supplier framework.”

Andrew Pettiford, fleet manager, Wales & West Utilities, said: “we chose BT Fleet as fleet management partners for Wales & West Utilities as they were considered best in class. They have the experience of managing large commercial vehicle fleets, supported by a quality garage network that will ensure our fleet stays on the road.”

Dave Bowen, managing director of BT Fleet, said: “We are delighted to secure this four year sole supplier agreement between BT Fleet and Wales & West Utilities. This highlights their long term confidence in our ability to deliver an outsourced fleet solution. The combination of BT Fleet’s account management team and our garage network will ensure that all of Wales & West Utilities’ objectives for managing their fleet are achieved.”
