Leading tax expert, Alastair Kendrick comments on the Budget.
He said: “The budget shows the Government is not for turning on its desires announced in the Autumn Statement over increased tax charges to higher emission cars.
“The tax concession extension to 2018 for low emission cars is to be welcomed. There is no change on other areas the request for enhanced capital allowances for lessors is not accepted
“The Government do not seem to have changed the AMAP rates and the increased in beneficial loan limit to £10,000 free of tax could entice some to look at employee car ownership
“The further rise in the tax on fuel scale charge again begs the question of employees whether this is something they should be still taking.
“It does not seem to be a budget for the company car.”
