Leasing and fleet management company Fleet Alliance, has launched e-fleet mobile, a new app for company car and business drivers. It allows them to access key support services, update business and private mileage and electronically complete vehicle inspection reports.

As well as enhancing service levels to business drivers, e-fleet mobile also provides fleet managers with a number of key fleet management benefits, including improved mileage management and recording, closer control over vehicle servicing and the meeting of duty of care requirements.

The new web app is compatible with the latest iPhone, Android and Blackberry hand-held devices, and integrates with Fleet Alliance’s online e-fleet fleet management system.

The e-fleet mobile app is registration number specific and provides drivers with all the main contact numbers and access points for their individual car, covering a number of key support services including tyres, automotive glass, servicing, maintenance and breakdown and recovery.

Dedicated suppliers of these services can be contacted without the need to refer to several sets of different servicing, maintenance and repair instructions. Drivers are also able to book their next service directly through the app with nominated dealerships and independent garages.

Drivers update their mileage records through the app which feeds directly into the e-fleet fleet management system, allowing fleet managers to monitor accumulating mileages more effectively and produce predictive mileage reports to identify those vehicles in danger of exceeding contract mileages.

Electronic mileage updating in this way also helps to improve expense management workflow through faster and more accurate mileage recording and, therefore, faster expense claims and payments.

e-fleet mobile also helps ensure companies meet their duty of care obligations as it provides drivers with access to an electronic vehicle condition report.

Through this facility, drivers can, at regular, pre-determined intervals, confirm the condition of their vehicles in vital areas such as fluid levels, tyre tread depths, the condition of lights and auto-glass and that regular servicing is taking place in line with manufacturer guidelines.

In this way, drivers  demonstrate that they are maintaining and operating their vehicles to acceptable standards laid down by their company, thus providing a clear audit trail in line with health and safety rulings.

The new app is the latest enhancement to Fleet Alliance’s e-fleet fleet management system, which has the scalability, capacity and flexibility to handle the administration of fleets from five cars to more than 5,000.

Martin Brown, managing director of Fleet Alliance, commented: “Our new e-fleet mobile web app makes use of the latest smart phone technology to provide company car and business drivers with enhanced functionality and remote access to the key services they need to ensure their vehicles continue to operate effectively.

“This allows them to access a variety of support services at the touch of a button, update mileage records remotely and electronically and confirm they are compliant with duty of care requirements.

“This development in turn helps the fleet manager run the fleet more effectively than before in a number of key business driver contact areas through the more effective recording of vital driver information.”
