Managing director Mike Street has decided to reduce his workload at SHB Hire, appointing son Paul Street as his replacement.

Mike will no longer have involvement in the day-to-day activities of the business but will stay on as Chairman, being responsible for funding, banking and acquisitions.

To support Paul in his new role, two new company directors have been appointed within the company. Nicky Simpson will be appointed commercial director whilst Rick Taylor will become the new operations director. Both roles have been specially created to help drive the business forward and improve efficiencies.

Paul has over 20 years’ experience at SHB, whilst Simpson and Taylor have over 50 years’ experience between them working in the fleet industry.

Simpson comes from a Directorship background, working for Enterprise Plc and Amey Fleet Services before joining SHB in June 2012.

Rick Taylor has been with SHB since February, and has held Directorships with WS Atkins and Gulliver’s Truck Hire.

Mike has high hopes for the future and knows that his new management team will help deliver the same high standards their customers have come to expect over the years.

He said: “This strengthening of the SHB management team will help us prepare for the challenges and continuing growth of the business over the coming years.”
