Renault and Dacia fleet sales have strengthened considerably in the last 12 months, according to the French manufacturer, with Renault car core fleet sales growing by 43% versus a market increase of 15%.

Its core fleet LCV sales have also continued to grow, up 46.4% year-to-date versus a market increase of 20.6%, while its Dacia range is also starting to gain some traction with fleet sales up 264% versus the same period in 2013 – admittedly from a low base.

UK sales director Darren Payne told Fleet News: “Our target for 2014 remains a van market share of 6%, and we’re making good progress at 5.4% year-to-date.

“Sales in the second half of the year will continue to accelerate with the launch of the all-new Trafic Van, as well as an update for our Master Van.”

Renault is ultimately targeting a market share in excess of 5% by the end of 2017, with fleet sales making an important contribution.

Payne continued: “We have now completely refreshed our entire car and van range, it’s an exciting time having the products, network and fleet teams all in place to continue to drive, sustainable, profitable growth.”
