Motiva Group is set to introduce a new online platform which gives customers the chance to book rental vehicles at the touch of a button.

The technology, created by automotive software provider Fleetondemand, will also provide consolidated reporting designed to enhance fleet management.

Richard Dawson (pictured), divisional director of rental at Motiva Group, believes it will be a huge step in the right direction for the company’s M-Way Vehicle Rentals arm.

He said: “This partnership is a big move for us as it’s the first time we’ve been able to create the ability to book any number of cars, vans or trucks online.

“We wanted to get it right first time and we’re confident we’ve done that by choosing a great, user-friendly platform that ticks all the boxes.

“Our clients will benefit from a high-tech booking tool and our company will become more efficient as a result.”

The three-year licence agreement with Fleetondemand can act as a stepping stone for Motiva Group as a whole, according to Dawson.

“It will help us take the business to the next level and opens up several exciting new avenues,” he said.

The software, due to go live in September, will also provide consolidated reporting details across the M-Way supply base and access to a national network of rental vehicles through the Supplier Genie gateway.

Dawson said: “The reporting functionality is very important, particularly for customers with bigger fleets.

“It enables fleet managers to see, real-time, precisely what vehicles they have, the rates they’re paying, monthly mileages and exception reports. It also gives updates on P11D and Motor Insurance Database compliance.

“It creates greater fleet visibility and, ultimately, more control.

“We already have access to more than 25,000 rental vehicles, but access to Supplier Genie means we can now tap into the rental stock of any other company with the same software if necessary and it’s an extra bonus which enhances our services to customers.”

Sarah Easton, managing director at Fleetondemand, is confident the company’s system will enhance efficiency at M-Way, which already has a turnover of more than £4 million.

She said: “Our rental management software offers several unique features to create a consolidated and seamless solution across multiple businesses.

“It’s a modern, intuitive system that uses leading technology in a fresh, easy-to-use design and I’m sure it will complement the M-Way operation.

“Motiva are widely regarded as a forward-thinking company which puts customers first and we’re delighted to be able to play a part in the latest stage of their development.”
