Enterprise Rent-A-Car has appointed Reykjavik Excursions as a franchise partner in Iceland.

The agreement will see the familiar Enterprise Rent-A-Car brand appear at airport and city locations in Iceland during the coming months.

The company launched its car rental business in 2013 and has a growing fleet of vehicles. Reykjavik Excursions also operates the main shuttle bus service between Reykjavik and Keflavik International Airport.

Vice-president of global franchising at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Peter Smith, said: “Iceland continues to grow as a travel destination. It is important to our service culture that Enterprise customers from all over the world can also rent from us whenever they travel there. Reykjavik Excursions is a long-standing entrepreneurial business that shares our belief that customer care is key to growing a great business. We look forward to building a strong partnership which will enable us to prosper together, serving the increasing number of people who want to rent from Enterprise when they travel to new locations.”

Kristjan Danielsson, CEO of Reykjavik Excursions and now Enterprise Iceland, said, “This relationship with Enterprise gives us the opportunity to work together to grow a major rental organisation in Iceland. Car hire is increasingly important in Iceland, both for domestic travellers as well as business and leisure tourists from overseas.

“Iceland has a reputation as an exciting alternative destination for travellers looking for a different experience. Renting a car allows visitors to really explore our unique landscape as part of their trip. It is an excellent time to extend our car rental presence through this unique partnership with Enterprise.”
