Etrel is launching a smart charger for plug-in vehicles which can restrict access and reduce vehicle energy costs by two-thirds by automatically connecting to low cost, off peak energy tariffs.
A company electric car clocking up 36,000 miles a year will consume around £1,500 of electricity. The Etrel charger with its on-board energy saving app, automatically connects with low cost, off peak energy tariffs saving up to £1,000 a year per vehicle.
With on-board communications, Etrel smart chargers effectively create a fully managed private charging network.
The chargers, developed by Etrel and UK consultancy Electric Village, are rated up to 22kw, enough to replenish an electric vehicle in around an hour.
