Dawsonrentals Vans launches portable maintenance product

Dawsonrentals Vans has launched its Portable Auto Centre programme, which will see repair, painting and baking facilities installed at its UK rental sites.

The facilities will cater for vehicles ranging from cars to extra long wheelbase vans, and the initiative will be officially unveiled at the CV Show on April 14-16.

Initally two centres will be opened at the company's Milton Keynes and Skelmersdale depots, with the rest of its sites following.

The company said these new facitilites will increase vehicle reliability and time on the road, while enabling fleet operators to quickly estimate and cost-effectively repair hired vehicles.

Dawsonrentals Vans will also be premiering new estimation techniques that will deliver clearer, more consistent and better-managed costs for fleet operators at the CV Show.

Gareth Jones, managing director of Dawsonrentals Vans, said: "The Portable Auto Centre concept builds on the experience that Dawsongroup has gained in the modular arena over the years.

"Combining the wider group’s expertise with our objective to respect and support damage management, we have created a modular concept that tackles the common challenges within the vehicle marketplace.

“For us, the creation of the Portable Auto Centre champions the need for fairer service across the commercial vehicle sector.

"Having our own modular technology was the next logical approach to our fairer service level agreement and supports our approach to recharges and reducing downtime for vehicles."

Steve Miller, group managing director of Dawsongroup, said: "Our vision for the Portable Auto Centre is for it not just to be based in our van depots but to be distributed, over the next 12 months, to our business partners and customers to host integrated facilities within their own premises.

"They will be able to have their own Dawsonrentals Vans portable auto centre where rental offices, waiting areas and full facilities for servicing, tyre fitting and body repairs are housed within a modular community.

"Affording efficient and immediate service in addition to effective management of time and cost control, this is really going to shake up the commercial vehicle rental sector."
