Thrifty Car and Van Rental wins two prestigious awards

LeasePlan has awarded Thrifty Car & Van Rental its ‘Rental Supplier of the Year’ award along with the LeasePlan MD’s ‘Leasing Hero of the Year’ award.

The Leasing Hero of the Year award was presented to Caroline Gallagher, sales director at Thrifty UK, for an outstanding contribution to the LeasePlan account.

Roger Hancock, managing director of Thrifty UK, said: “We are thrilled to have had our efforts recognised by a company who is so focussed on the service it provides to its customer base.”

The awards were presented at the LeasePlan Supplier Conference last month (February), which was held at Heythrop Park in Oxfordshire.

The event was attended by more than 170 of the company’s top suppliers, dealers and manufacturers along with members of the LeasePlan UK managing board and Wolfgang E Reinhold, senior vice president of the worldwide group’s car remarketing operations and procurement. The awards dinner, held in the evening, consisted of 12 awards.

Neil Dixon, head of procurement and supplier management at LeasePlan, said: “Thrifty has been the constant reliable rental supplier for all of 2014.

“They have demonstrated flexibility in their approach and relationship with us, particularly in bespoke requirements for customers which helped us secure new long term business.”
