Switch has appointed Fleet Assist as its service, maintenance and repair (SMR) garage network partner and launched a new website.
Fleet Assist will support the Scot Group company’s 85 locations and 25,000-plus fleet of cars and vans through its network of 5,200 garages and almost 500 mobile service vans.
As part of the agreement, Fleet Assist’s Service Booking Lite (SB Lite) platform has been rolled out to its in-house team.
SB Lite enables maintenance and compliance work to be directed to the most appropriate garage based on the customer’s bespoke preferences.
Meanwhile, Fleet Assist’s Paybill service will consolidate all SMR spend into one invoice.
Grant Capel, Switch’s head of fleet operations, said: “Our team has been using the Fleet Assist network and SB Lite for a few months now, giving our central contact team greater control and visibility to manage the nationwide SMR needs of our branch network more effectively.”
Capel says that the business intelligence provided by Fleet Assist’s Atlas system has been a real “game changer”.
“It is particularly powerful when garages are accommodating our larger LCVs and minibuses,” he added.
Garry Winckley, Fleet Assist’s business development director, said: “We have worked very closely over a period of a few months to finetune the setup of SB Lite for the Switch contact team.
“The roll out of the new SMR processes to the rental network has gone smoothly and they are already benefitting from greater SMR efficiencies and vehicle availability.”
New website to mark first anniversary
Scot Group marked the first anniversary of its newest brand, Switch, with the launch of a new website.
“Launching the new Switch website on the anniversary of our incorporation was no accident,” said Martin Wilson, chief executive officer at Scot Group.
“It marks both a celebration of our legacy and a confident step into the future.”
He added: “We’ve always been proud of our reputation for exceptional customer service and this new site is just one example of how we’re investing in new and better ways to serve our customers.”
Since the launch of Switch in 2024, the brand has focused on blending the trusted experience of Scot Group with a modern, customer-led approach.
The website launch, it says, is the latest in a series of steps Switch is taking to evolve how people rent vehicles across the UK.
“As we move forward, we’ll continue finding innovative ways to improve the experience for our customers,” said Wilson.
“Switch is more than a brand, it’s a commitment to progress, service and real-world solutions for both individuals and businesses.”
