Paragon Automotive launch plug-in de-fleet service

Paragon - Remarketing

Paragon Automotive has launched a specialist division to help manufacturers and fleet operators manage alternative fuel vehicles through the de-fleet and refurbishment process.

Volumes of plug-in cars have reached a record high in the UK, with more than 115 electric cars registered every day during the first quarter of 2016.

In total, 10,496 plug-in cars hit UK roads during the first three months of the year. This represents the best period of electric car sales since the plug-in car grant was introduced in 2011.

Ian Carlisle, chief executive officer of Paragon, said: “Alternative fuel continues to evolve and is a key part of many OEMs product lines. As technology moves from concept to the mainstream, and with generational technology improvement, it is fundamental that as a strategic supply chain partner, we keep pace to effectively manage these vehicles at all stages in their lifecycle; whether new, in-life or at the back end as they are reconditioned and remarketed.

"Investment in the latest charging points and specialist training for technicians ensures we are able to improve efficiency to shorten the time it takes to remarket the vehicle. We continue to grow our small truck and covered transport division to move these types of vehicle in the most efficient and appropriate manner.”

Recent registration figures from the SMMT show plug-in car sales this year are on track to exceed 2015’s record total, where more plug-in cars were registered than the previous five years combined.
