Eight of the UK’s leading fleet industry suppliers will be delivering a wealth of best practice information and advice on key issues impacting on company car and van operations at a series of ‘must attend’ seminars being held at this year’s Fleet Management Live.

Taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, on October 19 and 20, 2016, Fleet Management Live is expected to attract around 1,500 corporate decision-making visitors and organiser Fleet News is anticipating more than 100 stand holders.

Visitor registration to attend Fleet Management Live and as many of the best practice seminars as fleet decision-makers would like is now open.

Dedicated to the efficient management of company and privately-owned vehicles driven on business trips, a packed agenda of free to attend seminars will see:

  • Risk management specialist AA DriveTech focus on how employers can better manage the disproportionately high risk posed by young drivers and reveal the findings from exclusive research on at-work drivers, typically under 30 years of age.
  • Major vehicle leasing and fleet management company ALD Automotive, which launched its own telematics solution more than a decade ago, highlight the technology’s critical future role at the hub of ‘smart’ business mobility which will shake-up the traditional fleet management model.
  • Vehicle remarketing specialist Aston Barclay deliver a best practice insight into how to place vehicles into the wholesale market to efficiently and effectively maximise company car and van residual values in what is a critical area of management focus for outright purchase fleets.
  • Fleet Operations explore outsourcing, which has become a fleet industry trend over the last 20 years but there are significant pitfalls and the business process is not necessarily suitable for all organisations. The company is both the UK’s largest independent outsourced fleet management company and the nation’s biggest dedicated fleet consultancy, so is in a unique position to present a balanced view as to whether or not outsourcing is right for organisations on an individual basis.
  • Fleet management software specialist Jaama explain why regulatory compliance is essential for all fleets and how it can prove administratively burdensome without the solutions in place to efficiently and effectively manage company and ‘grey fleet’ vehicles and drivers. It will also highlight how information captured should act as the basis for change implementation.
  • Nationwide Windscreen Services explain why vehicle windscreens are no longer simply a piece of glass protecting occupants from the elements and providing structural support for a vehicle. Today’s company cars are computers on wheels packed with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) which ‘view the road’ through the windscreen using a combination of cameras and sensors. Therefore, after a windscreen replacement recalibration of cameras and sensors is essential to ensure the driver assistant aids continue to function and support safe driving.
  • In-vehicle CCTV supplier VisionTrack explore how fleets can effectively manage risk through a combined approach to in-vehicle telematics cameras. Having both visual and statistical information provides a clearer picture of why an event happened and can be used by managers to develop driver training to create safer fleets. The company will also reveal how the use of such technologies afford extra protection against third-party insurance fault fraud
  • Independent vehicle leasing and fleet management provider Zenith will provide an insight into how a number of forthcoming tax and legislation changes will impact on businesses, fleets and company car drivers over the coming years and thus influence fleet funding. The measures include: the new International Financial Reporting Standard; a tightening of capital allowance carbon dioxide emission thresholds; further company car benefit-in-kind tax increases and the abolition of the 3% diesel supplement; and the continued role a salary sacrifice scheme can play in organisations.

Fleet News' event director Chris Lester said: “The best practice seminars, which will be repeated across both days of Fleet Management Live, provide visitors with a fantastic opportunity to gain a wealth of information on key operational issues that managers in charge of company car and van fleets must tackle.

“The packed programme, allied to panel debates, thought-provoking presentations and a wide range of vehicle manufacturers and fleet industry suppliers showcasing their very latest products and services makes this year’s Fleet Management Live a must attend event for fleet decision-makers.”
