Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has taken delivery of six all-electric BMW i3s to help reduce its carbon footprint.

The company has more than 150 surveyors working throughout Scotland and hopes the cost savings in tax and fuel will be substantial.

Shepherd Chartered Surveyor’s senior partner George Brewster (pictured with Humza Yousaf, Minister for Transport and Islands in the Scottish Government) said: “Despite driving being a necessary and substantial feature of the surveyors’ day to day business activity, as a company we are keen to ensure we acknowledge our environmental obligations and travel in the most environmentally-friendly way possible.

“The BMW i3 enables us to lower our carbon footprint and annual fuel bill. Sustainability is important to our business and going electric will help us to save overheads – and the environment”

The company has a fleet of around 140 cars covering three million miles annually.
