Lightfoot has launched a new rewards system called Driver Perks that gives drivers access to benefits for being safe and efficient.

The optional service adds personal incentives to reward and encourage drivers including entrance into prize competitions, free coffees at service stations, and discounts on their personal car insurance at home.

Prizes will include things like supercar track days, meeting and racing against F1 world champion, Nigel Mansell, and a year’s supply of pies.

While Lightfoot’s dash-mounted device will continue to provide the driver with the real-time visual and verbal feedback, the benefits and rewards will be accessed via the drivers’ own Lightfoot app and the Lightfoot online dashboard.

The app and dashboard will also allow them to do things like track scores and setup leagues with colleagues and friends.

Lightfoot will manage the Driver Perks service on behalf of its customers, including the engagement with drivers, the delivery of prizes, and the organisation of discounts and special deals. It will also help customers with internal and external PR in recognition of their attempts to promote safer driving and better driver well-being.

Mark Roberts, Lightfoot managing director, said: “We think it’s strange that, while it is increasingly common for companies to incentivise staff for good performance, they haven’t been doing it for good driving.

"It’s a simple idea but it takes a lot of effort to deliver it successfully. That’s why we are organising all the administration for customers - so drivers can be fully engaged, recognised and rewarded without the process becoming a drain on management time.”
