Encouraging the UK workforce to switch to greener modes of travel for commuting will be discussed at this month’s Smart Transport National Conference.

Speakers will include senior members of the Government team responsible for Commute Zero, a package of measures announced in the Transport Decarbonisation Plan designed to help businesses reduce emissions from their employees’ travel.

The programme works with large employers on measuring and reporting commuting emissions and to support the take up of lower carbon commuting. There is also a commitment to promote car sharing and increase average vehicle occupancy.

The ‘decarbonising the commute’ breakout session will also hear best practice case studies on how companies are reducing car use and business travel.

The Smart Transport National Conference takes place on 22 November at etc.venues, County Hall, London.
