Three directors of ACFO, the UK representative body for fleet decision-makers, are seeking re-election at the 2015 AGM with no-one standing against them.

John Pryor (pictured), fleet and travel manager at Arcadia Group and the chairman of ACFO for the past year who was first elected to the board in 2006, is seeking re-election as is Caroline Sandall, fleet manager at Barclays Bank, ACFO vice-chairman for the past two years and a board member for three years.

The third person seeking election is Denise Lane, who is standing for the first time having been co-opted on to the ACFO board late last year in succession to Julie Jenner, who resigned following a work promotion. Lane is head of group fleet at Capita.

ACFO has a six-strong board and at each AGM two vacant positions arise from the retirement by rotation of two directors.

This year ACFO members are being asked to vote “for” or “against” each candidate with the result declared at the organisation’s AGM, which takes place at noon on Tuesday, June 16, during Company Car In Action at Millbrook Proving Ground.

ACFO members are being urged to attend the AGM as well as a special seminar on the hugely contentious issue of end-of-contract mileage and vehicle wear and tear recharges, which the organisation is hosting at Company Car In Action.

The debate entitled ‘The End is Nigh’ will see expert speakers address the critical issues to assist fleets in overcoming additional defleet costs.

The debate is open to ACFO members and non-members attending Company Car In Action and the speaker line-up is:

  • Nora Leggett, head of members’ services at the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA)
  • Jim McNally, chairman of the BVRLA’s Residual Value and Remarketing Committee
  • Ian Hughes, commercial director at contract hire and leasing company Zenith
  • Graham Short, chairman of ACFO’s East Anglia Region and in charge of the fleet at Anglian Home Improvements
  • Rupert Pontin, head of valuations, Glass’s Guide, representing the Vehicle Remarketing Association.

Having addressed the key challenges in helping fleets to avoid end-of-contract charges, speakers will take part in a question and answer panel session.
