The Outside Clinic has taken delivery of 34 Volvos, following a solus agreement with the premium manufacturer secured at the end of 2016.

Having held a joint-manufacturer account for the past five years, the Outside Clinic’s new fleet comprises solely of Volvo V40 and V60 models. These will be used by the home-visiting optician and hearing specialist’s team of field professionals, who all favoured the popular business vehicles’ industry-leading safety technology.

The V40 and V60 – like every Volvo – are fitted as standard with Volvo’s City Safety system, which includes automatic emergency braking.

The delivery of the company’s fleet – supported by local Swindon dealership, Johnsons – also saw the 14 V40 D2s and 20 V60 D2s arrive with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Blind Spot Information System, and front and rear parking sensors.

Neil Godfrey, fleet manager at the Outside Clinic, said: “Our patients are hugely dependent on our service, so the safety and reliability of our fleet cars is vital.

“Field staff can cover a lot of miles in all sorts of weather conditions, so the innovative safety technology fitted as standard to the V40 and V60 gives us peace of mind that our employees’ wellbeing is in safe hands.

“We’ve always valued Volvo’s capabilities when it comes to building efficient, reliable, high-quality cars, and with the brand’s stylish new look, it was a natural transition for us to opt for a solus agreement.”

Mark Davis, regional business sales manager at Volvo Car UK, added: “The positive response to our latest model launches, which now includes the luxurious new XC60, is driving interest in our existing line-up.

“The V40 and V60 both continue to sell extremely well, thanks to their economical and environmental performance, making them the perfect companions for the professionals at the Outside Clinic to provide their crucial hearing and sight care.”

The Outside Clinic has agreed to a sole-supply agreement with Volvo Car UK, which will see approximately 180 of its fleet vehicles replaced with new Volvos over the next three years.
