Dekra has acquired Gain Solutions after announcing the appointment of Paul Bradbury as its new managing director.

Gain Solutions, founded in 2000, is based in Chippenham (Wiltshire) and operates throughout the UK. In addition to vehicle inspections, it offers fleet management, used car coaching and training.

Customers include major OEMs, banks and leasing companies and the acquisition aims to strengthen Dekra’s position in end-of-term appraisals and technical inspections.

Dekra’s managing director, Bradbury, said: “This acquisition significantly expands our capacity to perform independent vehicle inspections in the UK, for a client base that is increasingly interested in the transparency of neutral vehicle inspections.”

Co-founder and chairman of Gain Solutions, Robin Watson, and managing director Marcus Blakemore will remain and continue to grow the business across all activities.

Jon Stevens, head of sales at Dekra, said: “We will be collaborating closely to strengthen our customer relationships to deliver innovative solutions to our combined client base.”

The deal comes after Bradbury’s appointment as MD of Dekra. He was previously at Dekra Automotive Solutions where he was responsible for new business growth across Europe.

He has held a variety of roles within the motor sports industry, automotive component manufacturing and most recently was MD at BCA Mainland Europe.

Commenting on his appointment, Dekra’s regional executive vice president, Frederic Schmitt, said: “Paul will lead the UK expansion of our automotive business as we develop and grow our award-winning offerings in quality testing, certification and training solutions.”
