Brake has announced that its annual UK Fleet Safety Conference will be held at the Birmingham Conference and Events Centre (BCEC) on May 22.

The conference will bring together leaders of the UK fleet industry, and enables fleet managers and suppliers to share best practice in managing work-related road risk and provides the perfect opportunity for attendees to network with their peers and industry specialists.

Brake’s senior fleet officer Sarah Plumb said: “The conference provides an ideal opportunity to network and share best practice with industry professionals whilst hearing from leading fleet safety academics and operators. We suggest booking early for this well-established event to secure your place.”

The theme for the conference this year is ‘Simply the best – prioritising fleet safety’. Presentations during the morning will cover topical issues including effective leadership, prioritising people and recruiting the best drivers.

In the afternoon, delegates will have the opportunity to choose from a number of breakout sessions delivered by industry experts and academics focusing on risk management, drivers and vehicles.

Alongside the programme, a range of exhibitors from a wide range of service areas will be available for delegates to meet and ask questions to throughout the day. The Checkpoint Safety Business Lounge will provide an area for delegates to network, meet fellow delegates, take phone calls and email.

Brake is inviting bookings from fleet operators and suppliers to attend the conference, and are offering an early bird ticket rate of £75+ VAT available until March 31.  From April 1, tickets will be priced at £95 +VAT.

This year’s conference is being run as part of the Global Fleet Champions campaign, a not-for-profit global campaign to prevent crashes and reduce pollution caused by vehicles used for work purposes.
