ALD Automotive has launched its ALD Carmarket digital platform to give dealers access to its defleeted lease vehicles.

The service has been trialled with a select number of dealers around the country, and the feedback has helped shape the format of the service.

Cars and LCVs are listed with photographs, service history, options and inspection reports, while the platform has several ways to purchase vehicles, including a fixed price, auction, sealed bid and a countdown price drop.

Gareth Jones, digital remarketing manager at ALD Automotive, said: “With ALD Carmarket we aim to make the buying process as straightforward and hassle-free as possible.

“It has already proven successful in Europe, and UK buyers have been quick to sign up and take advantage.”

Vehicle prices are reviewed daily, invoices are issued digitally, there are currently no buyer or admin fees and the service is free to sign up to.

Earlier this year, Epyx said an increasing number of ex-lease vehicles are being repatriated back into franchise dealer networks by manufacturers as demand for used stock increases.

Vicky Gardner, head of remarketing at Epyx, said: “Repatriation is a long-term trend that most manufacturers have been following for several years, aiming to strengthen residual values and provide an early opportunity for franchise dealers to acquire the best stock.”
