Global tyre manufacturer, Maxxis Tyres, has taken delivery of a fleet of 12 Peugeot 508s for its UK field sales team.

Maxxis Tyres chose the model as it met its “requirements for fuel economy, low emissions, comfort, suitability for work and home use and attention to design detail”. The cars are being supplied through John Grose Peugeot, Ipswich.

The new fleet includes a mix of Allure and GT Line Fastback models. Peugeot says the new 508 “has proved to be a hit with fleets, drawn to the range thanks to strong residual values and low CO2 emissions, which bring corresponding low benefit-in-kind taxation for drivers”.

Maxxis Tyres UK managing director, Derek McMartin, said: "We are very happy with our new fleet of all-new Peugeot 508s; these cars meet our needs in terms of fuel efficiency, good value for money and comfortable all-round vehicles. Our team members use the cars for work and for home and find that they excel no matter what is asked of them in the normal course of business and personal use.”

Martin Gurney, fleet director for Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles, said: “The class-leading design and comprehensive equipment for the all-new Peugeot 508 brings eye-catching design for fleet drivers as well as an extensive list of safety equipment that any fleet manager would want to help them meet their duty of care requirements.

“A global tyre brand could obviously have chosen any car for its field sales team and we are proud that Maxxis has chosen the all-new Peugeot 508.”

The funding for the fleet was provided by Free2Move Lease, along with its Connect Fleet telematics package.

Chris Oliver, Maxxis finance manager, said: “Our experience as a fleet funding partner enabled us to offer Maxxis a financing package that meets their particular needs, while also providing additional services that we know will help them with the smooth and efficient running of their new fleet.”
