Lesley Slater has joined Daimler Fleet Management (DFM) as chief commercial officer.

Slater joins the UK fleet and leasing arm of Daimler Mobility AG and brings with her over 25 of fleet and leasing experience following roles at LeasePlan, including UK board since 2014 as operations and business development director and brand director.

DFM is a top 20 FN50 passenger car and commercial vehicle leasing company, that partner with both public and private sector businesses to procure, fund and fleet-manage company fleets.

Barrie Wilson appointed to commercial fleet consultant at FleetCheck (pictured below)

Barrie Wilson has been appointed to the newly-created position of commercial fleet consultant at FleetCheck.

He will be responsible for ensuring the company's products are developed to offer further enhanced functionality and relevance to commercial vehicle users from small vans to trucks, as well as providing advice and guidance.

Previously, Wilson has held roles at the Freight Transport Association (FTA) over a 14 year period, including membership relations manager and tachograph and driver hours contract manager, as well as developing the small fleet Van Excellence programme.

During recent years, he has worked extensively with initiatives that involved the FTA and FleetCheck, including the introduction of online Van Excellence audit tools and an innovative pre-use app for drivers.

Trakm8 appoints Penny Searles as first female non-executive director


Trakm8 has made 'a significant investment into its insurance telematics offering', with the appointment of Penny Searles as a non-executive director.

The appointment further bolster's Trakm8's senior team and will see Searles help lead the strategic vision and commercial growth of the West-Midland's-based business.

Bringing over 25 years experience within the insurance and financial services sectors, Searles is well-known across the industry for founding a number of FinTech companies.

The first, Wunelli Ltd, went on to be purchased by LexisNexis in 2014, while her SmartDriverClub start-up was acquired by Calamp earlier this year.

Menzies Distribution appoints Stuart Warriner as new strategic advisor to the Board

Menzies Distribution has announced the appointment of Stuart Warriner as a strategic advisor to the Board.

Warriner will be responsible for helping Menzies drive it's growth strategy both through acquisitions and organically.

He brings a wealth of experience to the role having spent over 30 years in corporate finance at PwC, with 18 of those as a partner across the Leeds, Manchester and London offices.

Warriner is now a managing director at GCA Altium and holds a number of non-executive director positions.
