A new digital click and collect service for auction purchases has been introduced by BCA to meet the changing needs of customers in a post-Covid market.

Customers can pre-book collection slots for the vehicles they purchase online and in its first two weeks of operation more than 5,000 buyers have already used the service.

Organised through the My Collections portal in MyBCA, buyers can select any available date and time that suits them to book a collection for one or more vehicles and provide details of the driver or transporter who will collect.

Stuart Pearson, chief operating officer at BCA UK Remarketing, said: “With the ongoing effect of Covid-19 continuing to impact operations across many parts of the automotive value chain, BCA is committed to developing innovative digital solutions to support all our customers and keep the motor industry moving.

“With all our selling activity taking place online, BCA have developed this new digital click and collect service to help our buyers plan their vehicle collections efficiently and hassle free. It’s by far the most convenient option for our buyer customers.”

BCA recently released an update to its Buyer app with the introduction of new functionality allowing customers to place bids on BCA’s Bid Now online auction platform.

The update means customers can now bid or buy in all of BCA’s online channels via the BCA Buyer app – real time Online Auctions, Buy Now fixed price sales and Bid Now fixed time auctions.

BCA says that 14,000 unique users are now regularly accessing BCA’s sales programmes via the Buyer app.

Pearson concluded: “All BCA sales currently remain online for trade account holders only and we’re keeping close to the latest government guidance in order to protect our people, customers and suppliers.”
