Sopp+Sopp has invested more than £2 million at two new purpose-built repair centres through sister-company Activate Accident Repair.

The new body shops, based in Mildenhall in the South-East and Sunderland in the North-East, are equipped with the latest technology, including the ability to repair structural composite materials and EVs.

The announcement comes as the vehicle repair industry faces significant pressure, with demand for repairs outstripping available capacity in many parts of the country, said Sopp+Sopp.

Investment in these new centres is part of a strategic growth plan that will see Activate Accident Repair open more bodyshops to complement its existing strategic repair relationships.

Callum Langan, commercial director at Sopp+Sopp, said: “These two new sites are part of our strategy to build a hybrid repair network that includes guaranteed, owned capacity, and strong UK-wide partnerships with bodyshop groups and independent repairers.

“Many of our fleet customers are working towards reducing emissions, and we’re proud to be investing in body shops with the equipment and expertise to safely repair the very latest vehicle technology.”

Sopp+Sopp provides end-to-end accident management to some of the UK’s largest corporate and commercial fleets. Based in Peterborough, the business employs a team of almost 100 claims handlers and customer service advisers.

Part of Activate Group, Sopp+Sopp manages vehicle repairs through an approved nationwide repair network, which includes dedicated repair centres run by sister-

company Activate Accident Repair and offers parts and consumables through Activate Parts.
