Viridian Solar and EO Charging have announced a collaboration that will see EO provide Viridian with its latest generation of domestic chargers, the EO Mini Pro 3.

The deal follows the Government’s recent update to building regulations, requiring new homes to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 30%.

The distribution partnership agreement will see a co-branded version of the Mini Pro 3 made available to Viridian Solar’s customers, alongside EO’s new smartphone app.

No bigger than an A5 notepad, the Mini Pro 3 has a charging capacity of 7kW ranging up to 22kW, allowing both overnight and high-speed charging.

The Viridian Solar model will have solar power tracking as standard, enabling customers with solar panels to charge their vehicle with electricity generated purely from the sun.

Control over energy usage and access to the charger is all controlled using EO’s iOS and Android smartphone app.

Stuart Elmes, CEO of Viridian Solar, said: “Housebuilders need to meet new building regulations that require both solar and EV charging on new homes built across the UK.

“Clearline fusion is the market leading solar product for new build applications, and we are delighted to be working with such a well-respected name from the EV charging industry to bring these complementary products together.”

Combining insights from their retrospective sectors, the companies also anticipate the collaboration will result in the development of products that better improve the integration of solar generation and EV charging.

Tom Pollard, head of distribution sales at EO Charging, said: “Low carbon technologies such as solar panels, battery storage and EVs are a critical element in helping the UK reach its 2030 net zero targets.

“Viridian is the perfect partner to help us ensure more EVs on our roads are powered by renewable energy.

“As V2G charging becomes a reality in the near future, we hope this collaboration will also enable homeowners and landlords to benefit from responsible energy usage, selling excess energy generated from solar panels – or fully charged EVs – back to the Grid at times of peak demand.”

EO Charging is a UK based technology company that manufactures advanced charging hardware and provides smart charging solutions for homes and commercial fleets.
