A new tie-up will see customers of fleet software specialist FleetCheck given access to some Freight Transport Association resources in order to help them raise operational standards.

These include guides and documentation surrounding the FTA’s Van Excellence initiative, access to the FTA’s Advice Centre, and discounts on a range of other FTA products and services.

Mark Cartwright (pictured), head of vans at the FTA, said: “A key part of our remit is to drive up standards of safety and general operation across the industry, so this arrangement makes a lot of sense for the FTA.

“Of course, we also expect that it will help to promote wider interest in Van Excellence and the FTA in general from among FleetCheck’s 600 customers who, together, operate something like 60,000 vehicles.”

Peter Golding, managing director at FleetCheck, said: “We have been working on this tie-up with the FTA for some time and are very excited to put it in place. Our intention is to provide this service for free to as many of our customers as possible.

“As a company, we have always seen our role to be not only a provider of software but a proactive partner that gives the fleets with which we work a range of tools to help them make improvements in all the key areas of fleet.

“Certainly, this new arrangement should mean that they have access to FTA resources of the highest quality that could potentially help them to make strides in areas ranging from safety to whole life costs. It’s a genuine benefit.”
