Bournville Village Trust has taken delivery of 36 Volkswagen Transporter vans to help its service team carry out repairs and maintenance work on its properties.

The trust provides housing and estate management services to more than 8,000 properties across Birmingham and Telford, including social housing, retirement accommodation and a nursing home. It also manages a number of parks and open spaces.

Paul McNamara, support service manager at the trust, said: “Our old fleet was in definite need of a revamp and, as Volkswagen is well known for its reliability, it was the perfect choice for our new commercial vehicles.

“We have been able to customise the vehicles to our needs, with features including bespoke bulkheads and telematics technology.

"The size of the load compartment means we can reduce the number of times the team has to shuttle to and from locations, while at the same time ensuring drivers have an enjoyable experience behind the wheel."

The vans were supplied by Birmingham Van Centre and are funded by Volkswagen Financial Services Fleet on contract hire.
