FORS, the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, is to hold a series of six regional briefings at locations across the UK later this year as it looks to update its growing national membership.

These are part of an initiative launched earlier this year aimed at giving members from each region the opportunity to engage with the FORS team, learn about its latest developments and ask questions.

More than 120 people attended the first six regional briefings, which took place in May and June in Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, London, Manchester and Peterborough.

The first set of briefings was presented by Graham Holder, FORS head of quality assurance and compliance, and featured updates on regional FORS activity and discussion around ongoing industry issues and trends, as well as achieving FORS Silver and Gold accreditation.

Members learned about the role of the FORS Community Partnership, FORS membership distribution and statistics, FORS training and compliance updates and a heads-up on the introduction of version 5.0 of the FORS Standard, that is due to be launched at the FORS annual Members Conference in October for implementation in early 2019.

Holder said: “The demand for regional briefings was obvious given the swift uptake of places, and it’s encouraging to see so many members making the most of the training offered through FORS Professional. It’s always good to discuss matters face-to-face with our members.”

Six more will take place later this year at:

  • Birmingham: November 5
  • Bristol: November 6
  • London: November 7
  • Newcastle: November 19
  • Edinburgh: November 20
  • Crumlin: November 21
