Van Excellence has partnered with Fleetcheck to improve fleet safety, compliancy and efficiency.

Its fleet management software will be on board to enhance Van Excellence’s scheme to promote safe and efficient operations of vans.

The Van Excellence scheme was created by the FTA in 2010, but it will now be powered by FleetCheck technology.

Mark Cartwright, head of vans and light commercial vehicles at FTA, said: “Through its intuitive fleet management technology, FleetCheck is making it easier for businesses to keep their operations safe, compliant and efficient - three qualities which are highly valued by the team at Van Excellence.

“We are honoured to be partnering with a company that embodies the same values and aims as us; we look forward to helping even more fleet managers and van operators to discover this indispensable software.”

Van Excellence was created to not only promote the safe operation of vans, but to represent the interests of the sector, and to reward operators demonstrating good practice.

Peter Golding, managing director of FleetCheck, said: “Van Excellence and FleetCheck share a similar goal: to raise operating standards within the vans market; our technology empowers fleet managers and van operators to do just this.

“By enabling businesses to store all their driver information in one easily accessible place, they can rest assured they will never miss a MOT service, licence check, or vehicle safety inspection again.

“Powered by FleetCheck technology, FTA Fleet Management Software provides the perfect tool for any business wanting to run a safe, efficient, and compliant operation, while also minimising workload.”

Earlier this year, Chris Shenton of Asda has been named the Van Excellence Driver of the Year and Alex Tilley of Moy Park the Young Driver of the Year.

Both drivers were pitted against 12 other finalists in the competition to complete of a set of challenging tasks that covered all areas of their roles, including legislation, driving skills, risk assessment, and vehicle defect identification.
