Major leadership changes are set for r2c Online, which was acquired earlier this year by KeyFuels (a subsidiary of Fleetcor), which will see Nick Walls (pictured), managing director, step down from his role in 2020.

Nick will continue in his role for the coming months.

He founded the company in 2003, and has led it since its beginning, but now the company will undergo changes.

Walls said: “I am immensely proud of everything we have achieved at r2c.

“From the seed of an idea in 2003, r2c has become the de-facto standard SaaS platform in the UK for commercial vehicle compliance and maintenance.

“I feel privileged to have played a part in an industry wide digital transformation and all the resultant benefits that brings to our customers and ultimately vehicle safety on our roads.

“As hard as it was, I have made the decision to step down as Managing Director to pursue other interests which have taken a back seat these past two decades.

“I will leave the business knowing it is in great shape, with new owners who are committed to developing the company even further.”

Its successor has yet to be identified, but the company is working on a plan to transition between Walls and the incoming managing director.

Currently its platform connects over 24,000 fleets and 1,100 workshops in the commercial vehicle market.

Walls continued: “We will be taking a ‘business as usual’ approach throughout my transition, with a continued focus on growth and customer care.

“I’d like to personally thank our customers who have supported us throughout the past two decades, many of whom have been with us almost from the very beginning.

“I am indebted to them for their belief in the project and our ability to deliver.

“I can also assure them that they will be in safe hands as the business begins its new chapter with more financial firepower to deliver investments in exciting new product development projects and support services.”
