Citroen UK has supplied 40 of its new Relay vans to City Electrical Factors (CEF) for use on its delivery fleet..

CEF supplies electrical products and services, and the Relay L3H2 Enterprise panel vans will be based at CEF stores around the country, allowing the company to have options for both local and long distance deliveries.

Ian Thorn, CEF fleet operations manager, said: “We specify air conditioning because it helps to clear screens in damp conditions and keeps our drivers cool in hot weather.

“We choose satellite navigation because it helps our drivers find customer site delivery locations more easily as well as reducing mileage.

“The Relay’s Enterprise trim includes both and our funding partner Arval suggested that we look at the Citroën."

He added: “We encourage our drivers to take responsibility, and put stickers in our vans to remind them about safety checks and provide servicing reminders.

“We also insist on interim services with the current long service intervals, mainly to check for brake wear.”

Its Relay vans will make deliveries to more than 50,000 CEF customers, with delivery drivers taking advantage of more than 1.9m of standing headroom inside the vehicle and its low floor height.

Each model is 3,500kg gross vehicle weight Relay 35 models powered by the Citroen brand’s BlueHDi 130 engine, with six-speed manual transmission.

Other features include air conditioning, cruise control, rear parking sensors, perimetric alarm, touchscreen audio pack with DAP radio, steering mounted controls, a 5-inch colour touchscreen, Bluetooth hands-free functionality and a USB socket.

All of the new vehicles come with Lightfoot fleet management system as standard, which gives instant feedback on their driving styles, which allows for low fuel consumption, and wear-and-tear reduction.
