Rivus Fleet Solutions has announced it is providing low cost MOTs to support NHS and care workers through the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The MOTs are available immediately and are priced at £20, “which is about half the price that drivers would normally pay”, the company says.

The offer is available until the end of June and to qualify, eligible workers need to show their work pass when they drop off a vehicle.

Rivus says the offer is being made available to support this group of front-line staff to thank them for their work in such a critical time for the country.

Michael Scheidler, chief development officer at Rivus, said: “NHS workers and other people in the caring professions are real heroes in this crisis. We at Rivus want to show them how much they are appreciated by offering something that will help to keep their vehicles safe as they go about their work, together with helping them to save their money at the same time.

“We have a vast network of garages and all of our technicians are a minimum Level 3 qualified for light or heavy vehicle maintenance and repair – so anyone interested in the offer can have total faith in our ability to keep their cars safe.”

Although MOTs have been granted a six-month extension, Rivus recommends that drivers of cars that are still being driven, should stick to their pre-existing schedules wherever possible.

Rivus has a network of 55 garages across the UK.

NHS and care workers that want to take up the offer should find their nearest garage using the Garage Network, then call the local garage to book the vehicle in.
