DMN Logistics, the inspection and single-vehicle delivery company, is investing in the next generation of planning, transport, and inspection systems to extend future capacity and capabilities.

The company said the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) technology across its business will support effective planning and resource management processes to optimise driver productivity and reduce downtime as well as helping to ensure compliance with clients' SLAs and data requirements.

Transparent and real-time data solutions will also provide accurate updates to help better support customers’ delivery needs, the company said.

Nick Chadaway, managing director at DMN Logistics, said: “It is essential that businesses in the vehicle logistics sector recognise the need to change to meet customer needs and become more efficient. It is about evolving. As customers’ needs change, so should our practices.

“As a business, driven by data and we recognise that our clients have an evolving complexity of data requirements. And thanks to AI technology, we collate a lot of data.

“To ensure we deliver a scalable, cost-effective and leading-edge system-driven solution we must invest in our infrastructure and seek to develop and deliver the next generation of AI lead processes including automated inspection processes, resource planning and route guidance.”

DMN Logistics said real-time data will enable faster response times to transport issues and ensure the most effective vehicle deliveries to help support customers’ needs.

Chadaway added: “The latter will include specific EV charging routes and time-critical deliveries in high traffic congestion areas such as Central London.

“Over the next 12 months, our IT solutions team will collaborate with external providers to deliver a complete system package and we are excited to engage with our clients as we identify opportunities and critical milestones in this exciting and ambitious plan.

“We are a company that is powered by data and driven by people, and we will continue to support our customers, and our drivers, to ensure their needs are met.”

The move follows after the company introduced flexi-rates to help fleets reduce costs during the current challenging market conditions.
