The Isuzu D-Max was once again named ‘Best All-Terrain Workhorse’ at the Fleet News Awards in London, last night (Wednesday, March 15).

Defending the title from 2022, the Isuzu D-Max excelled in the award category thanks to its reliability, as well as its versatility and capability.

Combining good on and off-road handling, as well as the impressive 1-tonne payload and 3.5-tonne towing capacity, the pick-up received praise for being an excellent fleet option, particularly when considering the reasonable cost and notable warranty.

The award is one of 38 awards this year, each shining light on the various aspects of automotive fleet.

The award judges said: “The D-Max is a true workhorse which excels in the utilities and agricultural sectors. It is robust, high quality and very reliable, but also drives well and is backed by an excellent five-year warranty with a competitive total cost of ownership.”

Alan Able, Isuzu UK’s managing director, said: “It is both warming and rewarding to see the Isuzu D-Max receive this award once again, extending the list of awards attributed to this exceptional vehicle.

“As pick-up professionals, we understand the importance of providing bespoke services that cater to the unique pick-up needs of each client, and our fleet team has played an integral role in achieving this.”

Isuzu says that the D-Max is also a popular fleet choice due to the range-standard Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) technologies. which are built into every model, with features including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Limiter and Lane Departure Warning and Prevention.

At the close of 2022, in a sector where overall sales were significantly down, Isuzu UK recorded a sales increase of 17.89% over 2021.

Presales of the D-Max were very positive throughout 2021 and 2022, with 34% of the average sales mix for the pick-up consisting of the business range model, despite the V-Cross remaining the brand’s best-seller.

Isuzu says that small or small-sized businesses looking for 25 vehicles or less can be catered for via its dealer network, with support provided by the head office.

Larger organisations looking for 25-plus vehicles can take advantage of Isuzu UK’s national fleet team.
