Leasys is offering new and existing customers two months for free on new contracts to mark the launch of the new multi-brand vehicle leasing company.

A 50/50 joint venture between Stellantis and Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance, which was announced on Tuesday (April 4), the new leasing company follows the consolidation of Leasys and Free2Move Lease.

At the official launch of the new business, the CEO of Leasys, Rolando D'Arco, told a press conference held simultaneously in Paris and Rome, that he wants the new company to become the European leasing leader, reaching a fleet of one million vehicles by 2026.

“With the ambition to become one of the leading players in Europe, we have developed a solid and bold business plan,” he said.

“We are confident that our fleet will reach one million vehicles by 2026, increasing its value by 50%. Furthermore, we expect a growth of around 30% of our international organisational structure over the next three years.

“These numbers highlight how the combination of Leasys and Free2Move Lease is driven by a steady growth trajectory.”

Leasys already has a managed fleet of 828,00 vehicles, serving all the Stellantis brands, and is focused on B2B customers seeking medium-term and long-term rentals.

In the UK, Free2Move Lease was ranked ninth in the Fleet News FN50, with a risk fleet of 54,480 cars and vans.

Leasys UK, meanwhile, had a risk fleet of 22,080 cars and vans, placing it 15th in the FN50

Including the UK, it will operate in 11 European countries: Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Luxembourg and Austria.

UK operations will be headed up by Matthew Boswell, the former managing director of Free2Move.

The company says it will sell its services through the European network of Stellantis dealers, independent brokers, digital sales channels, and direct sales to larger clients.

In addition to concentrating on the leasing market, Leasys has developed a number of new products, including: Be Free, a long-term leasing solution that allows a customer to return the car after a year with no penalties; Miles, a long-term, pay-per-miles leasing solution; As New, a used-vehicle leasing solution; Leasys Pro for commercial vehicles; and Unlimited, a rental formula for eco-friendly products with unlimited miles in the contract.

Outlining the new leasing company’s ambitions, D'Arco also revealed customers would be able to save cash on monthly rentals.

He said: "We have decided to offer our customers, our current customers and those who will choose us, we will offer them for each new contract signed with Leasys the first two monthly rentals we will be offered free of charge.

“This is a concrete advantage for our customers who have always believed in us and for new ones who will choose us.”

Leasys UK confirmed that the 'two months for free' deal would apply to new and existing customers on any new contracts.

A spokesman said: "To coincide with the merger, new and existing customers will get two months free – with fees and services included – on all cars they choose.

"Vehicles must be ordered between April 5 and May 5, 2023. Leasys will refund the first two monthly payments, subject to status. Guarantees may be required. Excess mileage charges apply."

Stellantis had already announced that it had signed a binding agreement for the acquisition of ALD and LeasePlan’s activities in Portugal and Luxembourg, which has helped accelerate business growth plans.
