79g/km Peugeot 208 diesel now on sale

The 79g/km Peugeot 208 1.6-litre BlueHDI diesel-powered hatchback is now available to order.

The1.6-litre BlueHDi 75hp engine with Stop & Start (S&S) technology is available in Active and Allure trim levels, in both 3 and 5 doors. Peugeot claims it is the lowest CO2 non-hybrid vehicle on sale in the UK.

The model uses selective catalyst reduction and Adblue to lower emissions.

Mark Pickles, marketing director at Peugeot said: “We pride ourselves in producing engines that reduce emissions without compromising performance and driver enjoyment, while optimising fuel consumption. The new 208 79g/km is the industry class leader and reinforces the Brand’s commitment in continually pushing the boundaries of technology for both petrol and diesel engines.”

The car claims fuel economy of up to 94.2mpg (Combined Drive Cycle), can reach 106mph and is priced from £14,995.
