Epyx has launched a new vehicle allocation tool designed specially to meet the needs of motor manufacturers.

Called Select, it provides a single means to manage owned-assets such as loan vehicles, staff car schemes and press fleets.

The product consists of an online portal, a user interface and a task management toolkit, all based on technology found in Epyx’s 1link Service Network platform.

Key capabilities in Select include management of vehicle allocation by user grade, cost centre recharging, return vehicle inspection, service and maintenance management, disposal, ordering and progress, mileage updates, logistics and documentation.

David Goodyear, commercial director at Epyx, said: “This is an area that manufacturers find very difficult to manage and for which there are no directly suitable solutions available on the market.

“Select very much fills a gap in the market as a sophisticated asset management tool for manufacturer fleets, which often number in the thousands and represent major administrative challenges.

“We have already seen interest from several major manufacturers in the product and hope to be able to announce our first deal soon.”
