Škoda has announced true fleet sales growth of 16.1% year-on-year, giving it a market share of 3.6%.

The figures are based on the first six months of 2017, from the SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders).

All Škoda models enjoyed strong half-year sales in the UK. The launch of the Kodiaq seven-seat SUV has brought more success to the A SUV segment for Škoda, increasing market share in the segment from 3.9% to 4.7%.

Škoda’s most successful model was the Octavia, achieving a 7.7% increase in registrations year-on-year. Customer deliveries of the Superb were also up by 9.8% for the Superb Estate and 14.7% for the Superb Hatch. Yeti deliveries rose by 22.4% year-on-year; while registrations of Fabia were equally impressive showing a 61.6% year-on-year growth. Sales of the Rapid remained strong with 451 delivered to customers in the first six months of the year and more than 400 Kodiaqs have joined company fleets since its launch earlier this year.

Henry Williams, Škoda head of fleet, said: “Škoda fleet is continuing to go from strength to strength. We came out of 2016 with a record year for the brand and that momentum hasn’t slowed down. This year we invested in our Customer Service Programme and launched a dedicated Fleet Customer Service Centre to ensure an even better service for business customers. This combined with our strongest vehicle line-up yet, thanks to the launch of Kodiaq, has resulted in an incredibly attractive offer for business.

Škoda added to its long list of industry accolades at the start of 2017 with Superb named Best Upper Medium Car at the Fleet News awards.
