Skoda has confirmed the new fourth-generation Fabia is priced from £14,905 (on-the-road).

The latest iteration of the Czech brand’s small hatchback shares the same VW Group platform as the Audi A1 and VW Polo, providing enhanced driveability and refinement.

At more than 4.0m in length, the new Fabia is 111mm longer than its predecessor and has a boot volume of 380 litres, the largest in the segement.

Four trim grades are offered: S, SE Comfort, SE L and Colour Edition. A sporty Monte Carlo trim will follow early 2022.

The engine line-up starts with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol unit offering 65PS or 85PS. Both have CO2 emissions ranging from 116-131g/km. These come with a five-speed manual gearbox.

Turbocharged versions of the same 1.0-litre engine are also available, either with 95PS (113-128g/km) and a six-speed manual or with 110PS (125-139g/km) and a seven-speed DSG.

A range-topping 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine with 150PS will be offered next year.

The entry-level S trim features LED headlights, Front Assist, Pedestrian Protection and Lane Assist including road edge detection. It also has DAB, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and air conditioning.

SE Comfort (from £16,795) adds 15-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights and a two-spoke leather multifunction steering wheel. SE customers will also benefit from rear parking sensors, height-adjustable front seats, adjustable lumbar support in front seats and leather-wrapped handbrake lever and gearshift knob.

Colour Edition Fabias (from £17,495) are fitted with 16-inch black alloy wheels, privacy glass and door mirrors painted in roof colour. There’s an infotainment system with and eight-inch colour display, a digital instrument cluster and keyless entry.

The range-topping Fabia SE L (from £18,980) includes 16-inch alloy wheels, comfort seats, additional chrome trim, ambient lighting, a 9.2-inch infotainment display, climate control and a front centre armrest.

The fourth-generation Fabia will be open for order from September 28, 2021, with first UK deliveries expected in the fourth quarter of the year.
