Ford has updated the Mondeo for 2019 with new prices and a new hybrid estate.

A new diesel engine also joins the range. The 2.0-litre EcoBlue motor is available in 150PS and 190PS guises.

The addition of an eight-speed automatic gearbox provides improved efficiency and sees the introduction of a stop-and-go function for the adaptive cruise control.

The new Mondeo Hybrid wagon features the same 187PS petrol-electric hybrid engine as the Mondeo saloon. It emits 103g/km in estate guise and features a 403-litre loadspace (up to the load cover).

Ford believes the hybrid will make up 50% of all Mondeo sales.

The 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine has CO2 emissions from 127g/km (150PS) and is available with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.

All-wheel-drive is also available, providing up to a 50/50 torque split.

Ford's 165PS 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine remains available, delivering from 150g/km CO2 emissions.

There is a new exterior look, which better differentiates between the four trim grades; Zetec, Titanium Edition, ST-Line and Vignale.

Introduced to Mondeo for the first time, Intelligent Speed Limiter combines Ford’s Speed Limiter and Traffic Sign Recognition technologies, and can help ensure the vehicle’s maximum speed is automatically adjusted to remain within changing speed limits. The system uses a windscreen-mounted camera to monitor road signs and when the speed limit is lower than that maximum set speed, slows the vehicle as required. As the speed limit rises, the system allows the driver to accelerate up to the set speed, providing it does not exceed the new speed limit. 

 

Ford’s SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system allows Mondeo drivers to control audio, navigation and climate functions plus connected smartphones using simple voice commands. Supported by an eight-inch colour touchscreen that can be operated using pinch and swipe gestures, SYNC 3 is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
