Citroen is adding a new engine – the 2.0-litre BlueHDi 140 S&S – to its SpaceTourer MPV range, offering CO2 emission reductions of up to 11g/km compared to the unit it replaces.

The new diesel engine, which will be available from December production with first deliveries form early 2021, also offers 20PS more than the outgoing BlueHDi 120 S&S, which had CO2 emissions of between 167g/km and 190g/km.

It also replaces the outgoing BlueHDi 150 S&S.

The BlueHDi 140 is available with a choice of six-speed and eight-speed automatic gearbox. The engine is also available in Feel and Business trim levels.

In total, SpaceTourer is available in three equipment grades: Feel, Flair and Business.

Feel and Flair trim levels both come with eight seats as standard, with features including rail mounted rear seats for optimum modularity, a child observation mirror and six sets of Isofix mounting points with top tethers.

In terms of size, both trims are available in Medium and XL, with the latter offering an additional 35cm of overall length.

Standard equipment on Flair models includes black leather seat trim, driver and front passenger seats with individual armrests (plus electric adjustment, heating and massage function), a panoramic glass sunroof and twin 'hands free' electric sliding side doors with foot-operated remote sensors.

Flair also has head-up display, blind spot monitoring, 180° colour reversing camera, keyless entry and start, and Citroën Connect Nav.

Corporate customers are targeted with Business trim level which includes up to nine seats as standard, a hard-wearing TPO plastic floor and air conditioning.

Citroen this month began taking orders for its 100% electric e-SpaceTourer, with customer deliveries starting from November.

With space for up to nine people, e-SpaceTourer can travel up to 143 miles on a single charge, subject to payload.
