Hyundai has updated the i20 with a refreshed look and new technology.

Prices for the new model start at £20,770.

The i20 comes exclusively with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. It can be paired with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic transmission.

CO2 emissions and fuel consumption data is yet to be published. The powertrain develops 100PS and 172Nm.

Design changes include a new shape and pattern for the front bumper and radiator grille, as well as a redesigned bumper and a unique taillight design. New 16- and 17-inch wheels options complete the look.

The new i20 range starts with the Advance, at £20,770. It features 16-inch alloy wheels, LED head and tail lamps, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, manual air conditioning, cruise control with speed limiter function, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear lever, front and rear parking sensors with rear view camera and electrically adjustable and heated wing mirrors.

Hyundai’s SmartSense safety package is also standard, offering E-Call, Forward Collision Alert (FCA), Driver Attention Alert (DAA), Intelligent Speed Limit Warning (ISLW), High Beam Assist (HBA), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Lane Follow Assist (LFA) and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). 

Next in new i20’s range is the Premium, priced from £22,570. It adds 17-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, power folding door mirrors, privacy glass, automatic wipers, automatically dimming rear view mirror, climate control, multi colour ambient lighting, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and front arm rest.

The Premium trim level also includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen with satnav and Hyundai’s Bluelink telematics system.

The i20 Ultimate is available from £24,070 and comes with keyless entry and start, a wireless charging pad for compatible devices, Blind-spot Collision Warning (BCW), Forward Collision Assist (FCA) with cyclist detection and a Bose sound system.
