Hyundai teases Ioniq 6 electric saloon

Hyundai Ioniq 6 teaser

Hyundai has revealed a “teaser” sketch of its upcoming Ioniq 6 saloon car, ahead of an official unveil in the coming weeks.

The Ioniq 6 will be the second fully-electric model built on a bespoke platform under the Ioniq umbrella, joining the existing Ioniq 5.

Details about the new model are scarce, but the BMW i4 and Tesla Model 3 rival is expected to offer a range of more than 300 miles and use a 77kWh battery.

The sketch suggests the Ioniq 6 will be much sleeker than its retro styled, boxy stablemate, the Ioniq 5.

A more aerodynamic body should improve efficiency and performance.

The new model is inspired by Hyundai’s Prophecy concept that was unveiled in 2020.

Hyundai fleet director Tim White said the Ioniq 5 has “revolutionised” the way buyers view Hyundai, with fleet interest "surging" from larger corporates to SMEs and from private sector to public sector companies, including bluelight fleets.
