Hyundai has confirmed the pricing and specification for its new Ioniq 6 saloon, which is the second vehicle to join its Ioniq all-electric line-up.

The BMW i4 and Tesla Model 3 rival, which Hyundai describes as an Electrified Streamliner, is aerodynamically sculpted and inspired by Hyundai’s Prophecy EV concept that was unveiled in 2020.

Prices start at £46,690 for the new model. Two trim levels are offered: Premium and Ultimate. There is also a limited edition First Edition model, which is priced a £54,995.

The Ioniq 6 can be specified with a 228PS single motor rear-wheel-drive powertrain or a 325PS dual motor all-wheel-drive configuration. All Ioniq 6s are powered by a 77kWh battery.

The single motor cars have a range of up to 338 miles, while the dual motor models can cover 322 miles, according to WLTP.

An 800V electrical system enables the use of 350kW rapid chargers, meaning the Ioniq 6 can be charged from 10%-80% in 18 minutes.

Premium models feature 20-inch alloy wheels, electrically folding door mirrors, flush door handles, privacy glass, front and rear LED lighting, heated front seats with separate lumbar support and heated rear seats.

A 12.3-inch infotainment touchcreen provides sat-nav, smartphone integration and Bluelink connected services.

The Ultimate grade adds automatic flush fitting door handles, eco-leather seat trim, driver’s seat position memory function, relaxation front seats with ventilation, sunroof with electric tilt and slide operation, blind spot view monitor, drivers head-up-display, surround view monitor, remote smart parking, parking collision avoidance assist and Bose premium audio.

The Ioniq 6 uses a similar interior to the Ioniq 5, however it features a centre console between the two front seats and, according to Hyundai, a more "driver centric" cabin.

Hyundai fleet director Tim White said the Ioniq 5 has “revolutionised” the way buyers view Hyundai, with fleet interest "surging" from larger corporates to SMEs and from private sector to public sector companies, including bluelight fleets.
