DAF has announced the employment of Glen Crompton to the role of parts marketing manager, as long-serving Stewart Davies retires from the company.

Crompton (pictured) will have responsibility for DAF genuine parts and for TRP – the company’s all-makes truck-and-trailer parts brand.

His remit is to enhance the already successful position of both the DAF and TRP brands in the highly competitive CV aftermarket sector.

Crompton is also tasked with developing an accessible product range delivered through digital marketing tools and promotions, with a focus on TRP for mixed fleets.

Crompton said: “I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to the business. I have noticed immediately that everyone in the organisation is pointing in the same direction and committed to exceeding the expectations of our customers.

“I am also eager to draw on the strength, depth and experience of the domestic and international PACCAR parts teams to develop DAF Trucks’ already impressive parts proposition.”

Bringing 24 years’ experience in the independent aftermarket, and a further 13 in the CV sector he has previously worked for Brown Brothers, Partco and Unipart-owned Truck & Trailer Components (TTC).

DAF Trucks’ parts sales and marketing director Trevor Mitchell said: “We were very keen to secure the services of someone with Glen’s credentials.

“His incisive knowledge of the independent aftermarket is a key asset and one we hope to exploit as we continue to develop our parts offering – especially our TRP all-makes brand.

"Glen’s career-to-date ticks all the boxes and we’re delighted he’s on-board with us.”
